Our 6th time at Villa Dora and we are just not getting enough! It was as beautiful as always- with a small change of having a baby with us this time! So we had even more time to enjoy the Croatian autumn as our days started a lot earlier than normally..
We are back next year- as always…

Wieder einmal war es hier schon- wie immer: herrliches Wetter und Meer – die Gastgeber nett wie immer.
Hoffentlich klappt es auch nachstes Jahr!

The villa was all that we wanted to be- and more. We will certainly return and will be pleased to recommend Villa Dora to our friends.

Many thanks for your hospitality and good tips for exploring the area. Villa Dora was a perfect place to start for many trips to Krk and Plitvice.
The bungalow was perfect for our family and we spent many hours on the terrace in the evening.
Finally, thanks for creating a perfect place to stay.

The Villa Dora is the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing holiday! The property has a beautiful garden and direct access to the sea. The cave is only used by Villa Dora´s guests and some local people. It is never crowdy. You also have the possibility to use the swimming pool in the garden. Around the pool there are sunchairs and umbrellas. The garden has a lot of nice places where you can sit in the sun or in the shade if you want. A practical barbeque-area with a big table and benches are situated in a part of the garden. At the local butcher you can buy all kinds of meat and very good plicavica (a kind of hamburger). You have to try it!
You will need a car when you are staying at the Villa Dora. You will find all you need in Kraljevica: baker, butcher, supermarket, bank, post, vegetables/fruit-shop and so on. A good pizzeria and a restaurant is also in the area. You will probably not see so many other tourists in Kraljevica. We love to blend with the locals at the baker and the butcher. In short walking distance from the villa, you will be able to buy very good icecream in the icecream-bar next to the camp site. When you walk from Villa Dora to this icecream-bar you will see old villas and hotell Prague in pretty bad condition. But this tells a story of the country and you have to see the charm in it and imagine how it was several years ago. Villa Dora is a good starting point if you want to visit Krk, Vrbnik, Opatija or other nice places where you can have a good meal or just do some sightseeing. The apartments are well equipped, clean and they also have good outdoor furnitures. At night the only sound you will hear is the nice sound from the sea. Waking up in the morning, having breakfast and just take some steps down to the sea is just wonderful!!! The owner of the property is very professional and always helpful. She will be invisible but still availible if you need to ask her a question. The whole property is closed by a fence and you will have your car in locked area. We stayed at Villa Dora for the 6th time june/july 2011. It is our Croatian paradise and we can not see that we will find another property like this anywhere else. We will be back for sure!

We stayed at Villa Dora with our 6 month old baby and it was just perfect for her first holiday. The gardens are beautiful and there are many hiddens spots where you can relax looking at the Adriatic Sea and Krk Island. The pool area has many chairs and umbrellas and there is direct access to ‘beach’. There are only a few apartments available so you are never falling over the other guests in the garden or the swimming pool. Our apartment had air conditioning, which we needed!, and was very comfortable. We spent a lot of time on the lovely terrace overlooking the sea. The host Renata is so helpful and helped to make our stay at Villa Dora delightful. I would definitely recommend it.

We can only add our agreement with the wonderful reviews already written for Villa Dora. Beautiful, clean, comfortable, quiet and a fantastic place to return to after a day of sight-seeing! The sea was crystal clear and easy to enter with steps and ladders. The gardens were beautifully maintained and inviting. The owner, always available, was helpful and friendly. The location was so convenient to our travel goals of Krk Island and inland Istria. The wonderful new road system in this area, speeds you through the cities and towns and quickly on to your destination. We travel quite a lot and Villa Dora is one of the best places we have ever stayed in!!

Our goal was to find a well-appointed place literally at water’s edge, on the mainland half-way between Istria and Split. We planned to stay a week and make day-trips up and down the coast. Kraljevica was too far north for that grand plan, but “water’s edge” is a tough requirement, so we settled for Villa Dora. And have been congratulating ourselves for that choice ever since. In the deed, we found that our travel plans were insanely ambitious; Kraljevica was almost exactly in the center of the range we traveled (Plitvice Lakes NP to Rovinj). And, oh, the Villa! If it suits your party size, try to get the “studio” apartment – it’s the one on the middle level with the circular protrusion of bay windows shown in the picture. (The owners live above, their deck being your dining/sitting room ceiling.) The Villa was recently renovated with the most upscale construction, so that ring of windows – double-paned against the elements – open fully (or not, if you choose) to ocean breezes. And the water is so close you could throw a penny in the water, underhanded. Part of the unwinding of our long-distance driving plans was that it was so pleasant to sit, veg, and enjoy the environment. The Villa has plenty of space for parking, btw, behind an iron gate your remote will open and close. And the easy-to-talk-with owners couldn’t have been more helpful in guidance to shops and restaurants and all things needed to make your stay a happy one. Their broad-band Internet connection (wired and wifi) was excellent, too – that’s always on our must-have list, but maybe not yours. Travel alert: the trip down from Trieste on Saturday afternoon was quick and pleasant, but we noticed a backup of north-bound cars at the border leaving Croatia and were pretty much shocked to find that it persisted a good 20 km. People were out of their cars making new friends while waiting for the line to move forward a bit. Our hostess said that was due to all the lodging being rented Saturday-Saturday, and happened all summer. So we left late Friday evening and stayed the night at Hotel Coppe back in Trieste. That’s also a pleasant surpise, and another review.
